Improve Your Resource Efficiency support programme for SMEs is continued into 2011

The Improving Your Resource Efficiency (IYRE) service is an EU-funded programme for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) that want to take advantage of the business benefits of reducing their environmental impact.

The scheme aims to help SMEs that want to reduce their environmental impact by putting them in touch with specialist organisations and by providing support up to 50% of the value of the work needed to achieve the outcome.

The service is available across most of the South-West.  We expect the programme to run until November 2011 and it may be available beyond that, but different regions have set slightly different timetables for completion of projects and have slightly different eligibility criteria.

The scheme can help eligible companies to implement our Low-Cost Fast-Track ISO 14001:2004, EMAS, energy-saving technologies, waste reduction programmes, climate-proofing (such as flood defence) and much more.
